Heidi Farmer – President

Heidi is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of Hoosier Equipment Service.  Heidi is particularly focused on growing existing client relationships and identifying opportunity in the region. Heidi also assists in estimating and internal project management, including identifying and hiring subcontractors. She was certified in 2003 as an Aboveground Tank Inspector and is medically qualified and trained in health and safety with OSHA 29 CFR1910.120 to enter hazardous waste sites.

Heidi joined the family business in 2002 after working with Simon Property Group.  In December 2005, Heidi became part-owner of Hoosier Equipment Service.  She earned her B.S. in Finance & Economics from Barry University in Miami, FL.

Ralph Farmer – Vice President & Corporate Secretary

As Vice President and part owner, Ralph is also responsible for the overall leadership and direction of Hoosier Equipment Service. Ralph is an expert in the area of underground and aboveground fuel storage tanks and has managed thousands of fuel-system and general remediation projects. 

Over the course of his career, Ralph has acquired specialized training in areas such as tank installation and removal, confined entry environments, “Petro-Tite” tank testing and hazardous materials training. In addition, he is medically qualified and trained in health and safety with OSHA 29 CFR1910.120 to enter hazardous waste sites. Prior to becoming an owner of Hoosier Equipment Service in 1978, Ralph received his education at Hanover College in Madison, IN and Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. 

Charles (“Charlie”) D. Farmer – Vice President of Operations

As Vice President of Operations, Charlie has led Hoosier Equipment’s field activities and project estimation since 1988. Prior to “Hoosier,” Charlie was General Superintendent over Land Improvement at Indianapolis Parks Department. Charlie has managed a wide array of projects for Hoosier Equipment Service from challenging tank projects to the removal and disposal of tens of thousands of cubic yards of impacted material. Charlie has acquired many hours of specialized training in areas such as tank installation and removal, confined entry environments, “Petro-Tite” tank testing and hazardous materials training. Charlie earned his B.S. from Indiana State University and furthered his education at North Carolina State University.

Jef Farmer – Vice President

As Vice President and former President, Jef is responsible for market research and market trend analysis. Jef assists in the field, as needed, and holds a Class A CDL. Prior to purchasing Hoosier Equipment Service in 1978, Jef owned a couple “mom and pop” gas stations in Central Indiana.  He understands the complex issues facing today’s retail gas station owners and has personal experience in redeveloping two Brownfield sites located in Indianapolis, IN and Dallas, TX. Jef received his education at Vincennes University and Murray State in Murray, KY.

David Lee – Vice President & Controller

As Vice President and Controller, David’s responsibilities include financial statement and tax return preparation, banking and lending negotiations, retirement plan and insurance administration and Equal Employment Opportunity compliance. Aside from his financial duties, David also manages key human resource tasks, estimating, landfill approval and internal project management. David joined Hoosier Equipment in 1988 after working with a well-respected local accounting firm. David received his B.S. in Accounting from Ball State University and became a Certified Public Accountant (Certificate #3582 issued).
